Our four days in Xiapu should be a real highlight, with so many wonderful opportunities for photography. We’ll be out capturing the region at different times of the day, and we may also be lucky enough to enjoy some autumn colour.

The days will be starting to cool down in November, particularly during our early morning starts and evenings, so a puffer jacket, warm hat and layers are recommended.

We generally don’t dress up for dinner and will often stop somewhere to eat before returning to the hotel at the end of the day, so there’s no need to bring lots of clothes. Comfortable and practical is the way to go.

This is not a photography teaching tour, although we’re always happy to help each other if needed, and Susan is very happy to lend a hand.

Susan will be taking her lightweight monopod with feet, which can be handy for any longer exposures we may choose to try when photographing the crab nets. A zoom lens will also be useful, as some of the photography will be from a distance.
